Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (General Officer Commanding in Chief Central Command)
Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, Indian Army, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, visited Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey Uttar Pradesh Sainik School, Lucknow on 02 April 2026.
A highly decorated officer with an illustrious career spanning over three decades, the General Officer has held several prestigious command and staff appointments, including commanding formations in operationally sensitive areas and leading the Central Command.
During his visit, the General Officer interacted with the cadets and faculty, motivating the young aspirants to pursue a career in the Armed Forces with dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of purpose. He emphasised the importance of character, perseverance, and leadership in shaping future officers of the nation.
The visit formed part of the institution’s continuing tradition of hosting distinguished military leaders, whose presence serves to inspire cadets and reinforce their commitment to the ideals of service, honour, and duty. Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Indian Army, visited Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey Uttar Pradesh Sainik School, Lucknow in a proud and nostalgic homecoming to his alma mater. An ex-cadet of the institution, his visit stood as a moment of immense inspiration and honour for the entire school fraternity.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma has had an illustrious military career spanning nearly four decades. Commissioned into the 2nd Battalion of the Madras Regiment in December 1987, he has held several prestigious command and staff appointments across varied operational environments, including command of formations in sensitive and strategically important areas. His distinguished service to the nation has earned him numerous accolades, including the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and Sena Medal.
During the visit, the General Officer interacted with the cadets and faculty members, motivating the young aspirants to pursue excellence with discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the nation. Drawing from his own journey from the corridors of CMKP UP Sainik School to the highest echelons of military leadership, he encouraged cadets to remain steadfast in their goals and uphold the finest traditions of the Armed Forces.
